E is for Entrepreneurship
November 30th, 2007 . by PeggyIn doing research for a current project, I came across an interesting story in Entrepreneur mag, titled “E is for Entrepreneurship – Find out why three former teachers left red pens and chalkboards for A+ careers outside the classroom.”
One of the three subjects of this article is Charles Best, who is the creator of DonorsChoose.org, which is a highly usable website that matches donors with in-classroom projects that require extra funding to complete. I was very surprised to learn that some projects require as little as $100 to get off the ground.
As an entrepreneur myself who is always looking for ways to benefit a non-profit group with any project that I take on, it was a little thrill to learn that someone is finding a way to actually make their entire business about this. Philanthropy in action – yet another example of the axiom, “Do what you love and the money will follow.”
